Make Your Own Oatmeal Brown Sugar Body Scrubs

Hi. It’s me,  Emily.

Mama and me decided to make some DIY yummy sugar scrubs for the upcoming holidays. It can be given to friends and teachers as gifts. She found some good recipes and we are gonna share them with you. It’s ok, I’m allowed. My homework is done. This scrub is awesome: it takes just a few minutes to make, it feels amazing and it works better than store-bought scrubs. This is like an at-home spa treatment, made completely of natural  ingredients, for pennies a jar. Next, we want to try lavender sea salt scrub: the salt is supposed to make your muscles all warm & tingly.

Breakfast For Your Skin: Oatmeal, Brown Sugar -n- Honey Body Scrub

This exfoliates and is super moisturizing but doesn’t leave a greasy feeling.

Start by mixing: 3/4 cup Brown Sugar

1/2 cup ground oatmeal (not instant)

1/4 cup pure honey

3/4 to 1 cup (or to total saturation) oil of choice – we use jojoba, grapeseed or sweet almond

1/4 tsp essential or fragrance oil of choice (optional) Vanilla works nicely

(we added vanilla extract and it worked perfectly and smelled good too)

Mix the brown sugar & oatmeal together in a large bowl. Now add the honey. Drizzle the oil over the mix. Mix well. Mama made me wear my apron. When all your mix is saturated and sinks to the bottom of the bowl and you have oil on top you’re done. Add your essential oil or extract.  Spoon mixture into your jars.

 Brown Sugar Vanilla Body Scrub

You want to begin by mixing:

2 Cups of Brown Sugar

1 Cup of Granulated Sugar – mix together until there are no lumps.

Add in 1 Cup of Sunflower Oil

1 Tablespoon of Pure Vanilla Extract. (we like to use Sunflower Oil for this body scrub because it does not have the scent that Olive Oil does)

Mix together well and scoop into a glass container with a tight lid, like little mason jars.

You can add little wooden spoons for scoopers. We are going to tie pretty raffia ribbon around the rims.

Love, Emmy
